Want to take a day trip or weekend trip by train?

Taking a day trip to Chong Ming Island is best done with a rented car. The island is big and getting around isn’t as easy as in town. You’d have to depend on cabs who may or may not run by the meter. And that’s if you can get one.

Now’s a good time to visit the island and catch some hairy crabs (it’s in season), but of course if you’re not interested in that, June – September is the recommended time to explore the third biggest island in China.
