Tailor me beautiful: Shanghai’s fabric market

Submitted by on 17 May 2010 | 2 Comments

Lujiabang Fabric Market

Getting tailored clothes can get really addictive at Shanghai’s Lujiabang fabric market. Bring your own designs or just choose from their samples and catalogues/magazines.

Make anything from shirts and tops, to pants, skirts, dresses, coats, scarves, bathrobes…anything you fancy that can be done by a dressmaker!

Many have saved stacks of dollars by getting formal suits and wedding dresses from Shanghai’s Fabric Market. Extreme as it may sound, but spending a return ticket to go to Shanghai’s fabric market may still shave a large proportion of the wardrobe budget for your big day.

Address: 399 Lujiabang Road, by Nancang Road. 上海南外轻纺面料市场, 399陆家浜路,近南仓街

Opening Hours: 10am – 6pm

Getting there: Take Line 4 to Nanpu Bridge Station, 南浦大桥站

Its a good place to get things tailored for a relatively low price, but some of the booths deliver terrible quality and service, Katrina on the first floor booth 155 is place to avoid.
